Intuition Tip #2
What to do when you enter into conflict and become polarized, take sides, hold positions defensively, become judgmental, project negative ideas onto your opponent, and refuse to see another point of view.

When you take sides, your consciousness splits and you lose access to half the data in the world. True intuition can't register because the answer you need may exist in the half of the world you refuse to see.

EXERCISE
1. Open back up by seeing how you are like the other person or hold a similar position, perhaps in a different area of life. If your opponent has embezzled money from you, perhaps you have charged more for your services or products than they're really worth, or cheated employees by paying them too little and expecting too much. If you oppose a group who wants you to spend more money on safety precautions, perhaps you've been critical of your spouse for not disciplining your children more intelligently. By putting yourself in the other person's shoes, you can gain an important perspective about how to find a win/win solution.

2. Broaden your view: there aren't just two positions, there are dozens. Make a list of even more positions concerning the issue at hand. With that many ideas, there's no conflict, just the possibility of synthesizing a bigger view.
